At Storei Media, we’re not big; we are small. As a boutique production company, built on the belief that great stories deserve care, craft, and courage, we focus on creating impactful video production and podcast projects that explore travel, culture, and media literacy. Our work emphasizes depth and meaning rather than mass output, ensuring each project connects with audiences, sparks curiosity, and leaves a lasting impression—far beyond a simple scroll.
We collaborate with select clients who share our vision for storytelling that is true, engaging, and never boring. This approach means we take on fewer projects but think bigger. Whether it’s a cultural series, a travel documentary, or a podcast designed to untangle today’s media landscape, we apply the same journalistic rigor and creative polish to every story we tell.
Our approach is hands-on, collaborative, and ambitious. We think beyond borders, platforms, and formats, embracing the essence of storytelling. To stay updated on our latest projects, including our soft launch events, visit storei.ca and subscribe for updates.

On X, I bring the same approach I’ve carried through decades in journalism — integrity, clarity, and courage. It’s where I share quick takes on the day’s stories, highlight fresh reporting, and offer perspective you won’t always get from the headlines. I also keep you updated on soft launch events and the latest from Storei Media. I encourage you to subscribe for updates and explore our offerings at storei.ca.
I don’t waste your time. I cut through the noise, ask the questions that matter, and keep the conversation smart, thoughtful, and sometimes a little sharp-edged, just like our video production work.
Bluesky is where you’ll find my kinder, gentler side. It’s a space for photos, observations, and the small stories that make life meaningful. From snapshots of travel and community to glimpses of everyday moments, it’s less about breaking news and more about sharing perspective. If you're interested in soft launch events, you'll appreciate the personal touch here. If X is where I challenge the conversation, Bluesky is where I invite you in to slow down and look around with me. 👉 Follow me on Bluesky for photos, reflections, and a more personal view of the world. Right now, my YouTube channel is a little light on content — you’ll find some abstract pieces and creative experiments that hint at what’s coming. But stay with me. I’m building toward something much bigger: thoughtful video storytelling around travel, culture, media, and the kind of ideas that stick with you.
This is where I’ll take you places, introduce you to new voices, and push creative boundaries through engaging video production. It’s a work in progress — but one worth watching grow as I prepare for soft launch events that will showcase the creativity of Storei Media.

In recent years, church fires across Canada have made headlines — but behind the flames are stories of grief, history, and resilience. I produced this piece for CBC to look beyond the headlines, asking harder questions about loss, justice, and the communities caught in the middle.
This isn’t just about buildings. It’s about memory, culture, and the ties that hold people together.
When I was at a low point, I found unexpected inspiration in the storm chasers. Their courage, curiosity, and relentless drive to follow the horizon reminded me why we tell stories in the first place.
One group in particular — Girls Who Chase — stood out. They’re breaking barriers in a world dominated by men, chasing storms with skill and passion, and building a community that’s as fierce as the skies they track.
I was privileged to tell their story.
I once uncovered a hidden world of makeshift slaughterhouses operating in Alberta’s back alleys. It was a story of secrecy, cruelty, and public risk — and it demanded to be told.
That investigation led to real change: new laws, charges laid, and a spotlight on practices that had gone unnoticed for too long.
It was difficult work, but this is what journalism is for — shining light where others would rather look away.

Phil Trefry loads a chunk of dead, raw quail onto a long pole while Moxie, a 45-day-old peregrine falcon, watches with an intense glare. She opens her beak and lets out a loud, shrill skree, skree, skree.
Trefry holds the pole out toward Moxie's perch on the rooftop, and the falcon spreads her wings and dives for her meal. With a thickly gloved hand, the falconer reaches up and takes the bird by its legs, and places her on his arm. Settled, Moxie ties into a meal of quail meat and bone. Trefry calls this day two of flight school.

On the morning of Sept. 4, 2014, Edmonton police Const. Wilson Quan stood before Justice of the Peace Joyce Lester and agreed to the release of Shawn Rehn on a $4,500 cash bond and the promise that he stay away from illegal drugs and prohibited weapons.
It was Rehn’s last appearance in the justice system before he shot and killed RCMP Const. David Wynn and wounded Aux. Const. Derek Bond.

Eldon Foote is far from a household name in the city that has benefited from the millions of dollars he's given. His name is rarely noted in Edmonton. But he donated $164 million to the Edmonton Community Foundation, the lion's share of his vast fortune.
It was the largest donation ever to a community foundation in Canada, and was not revealed by the organization until last month, 13 years after Foote's death.

In scenes reminiscent of the Old West, cattle rustlers are making off with entire herds of live animals and in many cases, getting away with it.
John Meston lost 85 cattle last fall, including two 900-kilogram bulls, four cows and 79 calves. All told, that's $175,000 worth of cattle, he said.
"A hit like this is quite devastating," Meston said from his farm near Westlock, Alta.

At a time when Canada is vastly expanding its child-care system, and just eight months after a major E. coli outbreak in Calgary child-care centres, an Alberta Health Services analysis shows the province is lagging in its rate of daycare inspections, falling short of its guideline of at least one health and safety inspection per year at each of the province's licensed daycare centres.
